Eighth Grade Ballroom Dance

The Eighth Grade Students have been working hard in PE class on their Ballroom Dance Unit. Four days a week they receive instruction, from a professional dancer from Celebrity Dance Studio, on various ballroom dances. The culmination of this unit of study is next Friday, December 19, 2008. On Friday (12/19) from 1:15- 2:50 p.m. students will be demonstrating their newly acquired dance skills and enjoying snacks / treats from the PTO. Parents are encouraged to come (and bring cameras) to see the students dance. (Your students will tell you that you are not invited, but I am telling you otherwise.) In PE class the "dress code" will be discussed with students. Students are encouraged to dress up for this event (girls typically wear a skirt or dress and boys wear nice slacks and a shirt with a collar).

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I hope to see many of you next Friday!

Winter Wear Drive

The Indian Prairie Public Library’s Second Annual “Giving Tree” is under way. The Teen Advisory Board members are sharing the magic of the holiday season and encouraging the spirit of giving by collecting donations of NEW winter wear to be distributed through the Community House. Lakeview is helping this cause by providing a drop-off box in our building. Students are encouraged to bring donations and drop them in the box in the lobby. Winter wear includes: mittens, gloves, scarves and hats. This collection will take place from Monday, December 8th – Friday, December 19th.
