The Lakeview Jr. High School Wind Ensemble was selected to participate at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.  The purpose of the clinic is to bring music directors from around the world in contact with the best published music, new and established teaching techniques, and the latest products and services for music educators.  Lakeview will be part of a Rehearsal Lab Clinic conducted by Mrs. Mary Land from Young Harris College in Georgia.  The Lakeview Wind Ensemble was selected through a highly competitive audition process from groups around the nation.  The Midwest Clinic is one of the largest events of its kind and to be selected is a very high honor for school bands.  The Lakeview Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Tom Tedeschi.  For more information regarding the Lakeview Band Program go to www.ccsd66music.com.

Happy Spring!

The weather has turned warmer (except for today) and things continue to be in full bloom around Lakeview! Our Spring Sports teams had try-outs and congratulations to all students who tried out and / or made the Spring Teams (Boys' Volleyball, Girls' Softball, Track and Field and Girls' and Boys' Soccer).

We continue to pray and "Hope for Hunter" as he continues on the long road to recovery. Ms. Cerney and the Boys' Volleyball Team have made Hunter an honorary member of the team this year. They will wear orange headbands during their games that display Hunter's number from last year on them. (As shown above)

The Spring Musical is well underway with daily rehersals. Please mark your calendars now to attend one of the performances on May 17 or May 18th. This year's musical is Once Upon a Mattress.

The Board of Education continues their search for a new superintendent. We all look forward to that new person being named in the next few weeks and working with them in the future.
