Last Magazine Turn-In Day!!!!
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, is the last magazine turn-in day. Please encourage your son or daughter to sell a magazine or two to support the PTO. The PTO does a lot of great things with the money generated through the magazine sale. Each building PTO budget is funded through the sale of magazines. Without these budgets our PTO's would not be able to fund class / grade level parties, assemblies and treats.
As a special incentive, the Lakeview PTO is offering a great opportunity! Any Lakeview student who sells 7 or more magazine subscriptions during the course of the sale will have their name placed in a hat. Ten student names will be drawn and those students will get twenty seconds in the Money Machine!!!!!

Third week of the Trimester is here already!
It is hard to believe, but today marks the third week of the trimester! If you have not done so, recently, I encourage all parents (and students) to access grades via Parent Connect. If you require assistance please contact the office.
Tonight is the Dance-A-Thon from 6-9 pm. All Lakeview Dances are open to students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. Encourage your student to attend any and all events. The more involved a student is the more fun they will have!
Monday, September 13 is our Open House. This event is for PARENTS ONLY. The evening will start at 6:45 pm and conclude around 9 pm. Parents will hear about PBIS, our new behavior initiative, as well as have time to follow their child's class schedule and meet all of their child's teachers. Hope to see everyone on Monday night!
Good luck to the Marching Spartans tomorrow as they begin their marching season. The Marching Spartans will be at the Von Steuben Day Parade in Chicago. Pray for no rain!

Welcome Back!!!!
Welcome to the 2010-2011 School Year! I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer! It was definitely a hot one compared to last year, so I hope you found a cool place for some of your time. I know, personally, I spent a lot of time in my pool reading great books.
The renovation and construction projects are quickly coming to a close and the building will be ready for everyone in a little over a weeks time. I look forward to seeing the sixth graders next Thursday, August 19th from 9 - 11 am. And then seventh and eighth graders will be here on Monday, August 23rd.
This year will bring PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems) to CCSD, which is exciting and you will hear a lot more about later. I look forward to hosting book clubs with students and staff again as well.
Enjoy the last few days of summer and see you soon!
