The Lakeview Jr. High School Wind Ensemble was selected to participate at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.  The purpose of the clinic is to bring music directors from around the world in contact with the best published music, new and established teaching techniques, and the latest products and services for music educators.  Lakeview will be part of a Rehearsal Lab Clinic conducted by Mrs. Mary Land from Young Harris College in Georgia.  The Lakeview Wind Ensemble was selected through a highly competitive audition process from groups around the nation.  The Midwest Clinic is one of the largest events of its kind and to be selected is a very high honor for school bands.  The Lakeview Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Tom Tedeschi.  For more information regarding the Lakeview Band Program go to www.ccsd66music.com.

Happy Holiday

It is hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us!  The month of December is a busy one in District 66.  Today, is the Winter Invitational at Lakeview.  Congratulations to the Prairieview Cadet Band who did a fantastic job performing this morning.  And good luck to the Lakeview Bands this afternoon as they perform.

The Holiday Concert Season is upon us as well.  Next week the Lakeview bands and choir will be performing throughout the week both in house and at York Town Mall.

The following week the Lakeview Choir will be traveling to the local nursing homes to spread holiday cheer.

And finally the last day before winter break will conclude with our annual Eighth Grade Ballroom Dance unit and party. (more information to come about this special event)

I hope each of you take a moment this holiday season to truly remember what is all about, spend quality time with family and friends and most importantly take time for you!
